Select’s relationship with Skullcandy stemmed from a need for a partner who could deliver on their high demand for event merchandise. The ability to execute quick turn projects and deliver to the field globally was essential.

From there, Select has been a mainstay and a key component to Skullcandy’s overall marketing strategy — specifically the brand’s efforts to revert back to their roots and focus on street, snow and skate culture. To help accomplish that in the last year, Select designed, produced and delivered a line of retail apparel and accessories as well as bundle products for Skullcandy’s "12 Moods" program.

After years of supporting Skullcandy with custom product and gifts-with-purchase at trade shows, ski events and surfing tournaments, Select helped the brand deepen its connection to its target consumer by creating a merchandising and custom product retail line that went beyond its core product category.

To drive ongoing engagement, Skullcandy envisioned “celebrating” a new color each month. The brand partnered with Select to design and produce custom product and apparel to bring its brand — and monthly color — to life. Twelve months of activation created an evergreen campaign where the response from the consumer has been better than anticipated through social platforms and sales. The mood bundle for every month has sold out within days of being launched.

Skullycandy’s “12 Moods” program celebrates the visceral power of music. Each month, the brand spotlights a different mood that music can evoke and delivers limited edition, worldwide product drops that feature the hottest Skullycandy products and accessories in a monthly, custom colorway.
