When General Mills was set to relaunch and reposition its Dunkaroos snack brand, it turned to Select to imagine ways to build intrigue and modernize 90s nostalgia. After receiving organic support from celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Tyler the Creator, the brand saw an opportunity to level up the hype with a one-of-a-kind streetwear collection.
General Mills challenged Select to provide merchandise and drop strategy, apparel design, as well as create all visual assets. From beginning to end, Select rose to the creative and strategic tasks to create a custom apparel collection that expressed the Dunkaroos cultural footprint.
Select designed all patterns and curated merchandise for the summer line, pumping-up staples like bike shorts, swim trunks, tees and camp shirts with bright, referential custom patterns.
Armed with a collection of unique and hype-worthy pieces, Select translated the en vogue streetwear merch drop aesthetic into the energetic and jubilant visual lexicon of the Dunkaroos brand.
For the much-anticipated drop, Select was prepared with a fully built and designed website, customer support, and fulfillment team to manage the high demand for Dunkaroos merchandise.
Dunkaroos fans loved the collection so much, that most pieces were sold out on the site within the first 45 minutes, leaving the audience emailing and commenting about when the collection would be restocked so more Dunkaroos fans could get their hands on the hottest merch in town.
